About Us
We built the tool we wished existed.
ShowDogCentral was created by Krista Burdick, a computer scientist who grew up immersed in the world of dog shows. The idea for the platform came from her mother, Tracy Burdick (Denzel Papillons), who has over 40 years of experience as a breeder, owner, and handler and remains deeply involved in the dog show world.
After years of frustrating online event searches, we saw a need for a user-friendly tool to better organize and access dog show information. Krista developed ShowDogCentral as a comprehensive, easy-to-use platform for everyone involved in dog shows.
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide the dog show community with the tools they need to stay organized, informed, and connected. We're constantly working to enhance the platform, with new features to be released based on feedback from users.
Why we built this
Anyone who has spent a Sunday afternoon planning the next month of dog shows knows the workflow: browse the AKC events website, click into each show, scroll through a PDF premium list to find the judge for your breed, switch to a spreadsheet to remember whether you have shown under that judge before, then go back to AKC to check the next show. For exhibitors entering a dozen shows a year, that means hours of manual cross-referencing every month.
ShowDogCentral collapses that workflow into a single search. You filter by your breed, the states you'll travel to, and the date range you have available. You see the judge for every breed-and-class combination at every show in that window. You see how many entries each show drew last year. You bookmark shows you're considering, mark them entered when you submit, and the system carries them through to "shown" after the date passes. You build a private record of which judges have liked your dogs and which haven't, so the research compounds over time instead of starting from scratch every season.
What makes us different
ShowDogCentral is independent. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the American Kennel Club. We aggregate publicly available AKC event data and build the exhibitor-facing tools AKC.org does not offer: community judge ratings, personal notes that travel with you across seasons, bookmark tracking with three-state lifecycle, breed-specific point schedule lookups, premium list and judging program downloads pulled into your search results, and notifications when judges or clubs you follow get new assignments.
The team that builds the tool also competes at AKC shows. Every feature has been pressure-tested against the actual workflow of preparing for a real weekend of shows. When something feels clunky we fix it because we hit it ourselves the next weekend. The pricing reflects that this is a serious tool for serious exhibitors: $10 a month or $100 a year, no upsells, no add-on tiers, no limits on saved searches or bookmarked judges.
Who uses ShowDogCentral
Owner-handlers planning their next regional swing. Professional handlers managing client dogs across multiple breeds. Breeders researching judges before deciding which shows to enter their young stock in. Junior showmanship competitors building a record of judges they have shown under. Anyone who has ever wished they could see a judge's full assignment history with their breed in one place, and remember six months from now what they thought of the assignment when it happened.
If you are new to AKC dog shows, the 30-day free trial is meant for you too. There is no credit card required to start, and the in-app tutorial walks you through the search, the point schedule lookup, and how to set up your first saved search. The community judge ratings and notes you build during the trial are yours to keep whether or not you continue.
